Workout:
Brick: 15 mile bike + 20 minute run

Counting down to ITU San Diego. 25 days away. Had to do the first brick since ummm last August. Went surprisingly well sans jello legs. Made me all the more confident for my first race. I am hoping to set a personal PR for the sprint distance.

I asked all my Instagram friends about this one. I am testing out different sources of fuel.  So far I am digging GU Roctane but I am open to suggestions. Let me know what you all use friends!

I went on the shoe search again. Ended up leaving the store with the saucony kinvara 3. The white ones not the pink/orange. (I am conservative with my running kicks.) I am hoping this is "my shoe" you know like the slipper in Cinderella. I'd love to not have to try a million different shoes again.

I'll leave you with a little doodle I did.

  1. GU Roctane is the crack nutrition of our sport, instantly perks you up, nothing else compares to the instant effects it brings, in my opinion. Although, for me, too much of it will give me bad, bad, bad GI issues. So I use regular GU for majority of the race and Roctane when I need a pick me up.

Honey Stinger waffles are freaking awesome too!!

    1. The BCAAs in Roctane are the main reason why I am liking that. I do mostly short races so I haven't had to worry about over consuming it. I've got to pick up some waffles. Everyone is talking about them.

  2. Saucony Kinvara is the best shoe I've ever tried on - fit like a glove. Though it was a little snug on my pinky toe of one foot, and I had to return it because of that - bummer. Hope they work for you, I thought the shoe felt fantastic.

    1. So far so good. I'm digging it. I'll race in it next month and then make the final decision.

  4. There are many product "miraculous" but what really counts is a good diet, varied and rich in all nutrients. The accessories go well as small grants but the important is a good base.

  5. Thanks for the heads up on Tilly's, I had no idea that things are planned that far out. That seems like tough in case something major changes to be able to make an adjustment. Oh, and I go to Warped Tour every year, so that is the main reason I know of Tilly's lol. Advertising there seems to work for them.

Also, I just added a paragraph to my blog about the RW cover, didn't know that would hit such a nerve with people.
(EDIT: this paragraph seems to hit a nerve with a lot of people, I guess my main suggestion for Runners World would be to make the magazine more up to date on current events and less boilerplate articles about things. I think it would also make people want to stay on as a subscriber since the articles would be more current, incentivizing people to stay on longer as subscribers. My comparison is Sports Illustrated, which comes out every week and always has up to date sports stories in there)
