Finally the day came. I got my new triathlon bike. Prior to this oh so glorious day I was riding a Univega from when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. Now don't get me wrong I love that clunky, awkwardly unshiftable and strange noise making bike to pieces. But after the 2012 season I decided I was going to be taking triathlon a bit more seriously... quite a bit. First things first. Find the perfect bike fitter. After reading some excellent reviews online from triathletes I booked a fitting at FinalFit at the LA Velodrome. Jim was awesome. He talked me through using Speedplay pedals, got me comfortable on a triathlon bike and helped me pick the perfect one for me. The technology he uses is wayyyy ahead of your local bike shop that says they do bike fits. Plus he isn't affiliated with any company and doesn't sell any products so don't expect to come out of there with something you don't need. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with FinalFit. So if you live in Southern California please do yourself a favor and go to FinalFit.

So here she is Felt DA4. Took her for my first real ride on Sunday and I feel like I went from a moped to a Ferrari. Hopefully this helps me knock a few minutes off my bike time but even if not I still look good. :-)
I love my FELT!! And it sounds like Jim is the guy to go to! Most fit specialists here in CT work for bike shops and you end up leaving with a ton of new pieces to the bike. Not that they're not needed or helpful, but I've always felt it's more business than service.

I am impressed you are working on your own fit. I sadly don't know enough about bikes to do that myself. I think I would be winging it too much. I need to teach myself how to do all my bike repair stuff as well. So much to do an so little time!
