That's what I did for my first triathlon. Gives you a little extra motivation to "train" and do the race. Let me know what you find.Alyssa Duhehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00916974410155807044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1418788652582506118.post-87567275276727795782012-08-28T15:12:33.775-07:002012-08-28T15:12:33.775-07:00You are more than welcome -- you were the one who ...You are more than welcome -- you were the one who did all the work! And that is a really good suggestion, I had not thought about setting "solid" goals such as registering for 1k, 2k, 5k, and eventually 10ks. I know there are tons of groups out there (some I have volunteered for and/or donated to) that have official walks, I suppose they seemed a bit daunting to do by myself... I will continue to work on getting my energy back and in the meantime shall start looking for various events :) Thanks for the suggestion, the offer to join me when I eventually am ready -- and the suggestion that Amy pushing a stroller could join us! (I have been hoping and praying for them)
~Jennifer
P.S. I just remembered that one of my younger cousins did a triathlon maybe six years ago?? He finished alright (I do not recall exactly where he placed) but for some reason it was the only one he ever did. I think it takes a lot of time and real commitment -- and I doubt I would ever be one to try it! Walks I will be capable of so I am off to look into those -- finding more to motivate me should help me get my energy back and then registering can begin! :)JMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06321051201768707315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1418788652582506118.post-17196979728600964142012-08-28T09:44:49.044-07:002012-08-28T09:44:49.044-07:00Thank you so much.I don't blame you for not tr...Thank you so much.I don't blame you for not trying triathlons. I have some friends and coworkers that look at me like I am insane. How about a 5k when you get your energy back? You let me know when you get there and maybe we can get Amy to push a stroller and do one with us.Alyssa Duhehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00916974410155807044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1418788652582506118.post-29183323631986166342012-08-27T01:15:13.789-07:002012-08-27T01:15:13.789-07:00Congratulations on getting second place in your se...Congratulations on getting second place in your second triathlon! That is just awesome, plus you were able to achieve your goal of being in the top three which is great! :) I find myself slightly jealous of your skills, dedication and energy -- am working on getting my energy levels back up but even after I do that I know I am not cut out to try triathlons so I shall follow your progress online instead. Am sure you have more triathlons ahead of you, good luck!JMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06321051201768707315noreply@blogger.com
